THE 15TH CISMEF TO PROVIDE OPPORTUNITY, PLATFORM FOR BUSINESS INVESTMENT AND NEGOTIATION

The press conference for the 15th China International Small and Medium Enterprise Fair (CISMEF) was held in Guangzhou on October 8th. A total of 6,628 booths were reserved by 3,019 domestic and foreign enterprises from 39 countries including France, Brazil, UAE, Malaysia, Japan and South Africa.

This year’s fair is on the theme of "Intelligence, Wisdom, Smart Manufacturing and Energy Conservation", and will cover an area of 150,000 square meters. Running from Oct 10th to 13rd, it will be held at the Poly World Trade Center Expo in Guangzhou.

One of the event’s highlights, the 15th CISMEF will see relevant government officials deliver their interpretation of the latest measures and policies to support the development of SMEs in Guangdong, such as the “new policies and measures for real economy development” and the “revised edition of ten measures on foreign investment”.

With great influence throughout the Asia-Pacific region, CISMEF enjoys the support of many countries. Official delegations from 10 countries, including Cuba, Bulgaria, Brazil, South Africa, Iran, Mexico, Nigeria, Myanmar, Laos, Vietnam, will participate in the event.

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) and the United Nations Industrial Development Organization are co-hosting this year's fair. It is the first time that CISMEF has partnered with Middle Eastern countries involved in the Belt and Road Initiative.

75 enterprises from the UAE in the fields of agriculture, innovation, manufacturing and health care will attend the event. During the event, the UAE pavilion will set up special areas to showcase unique products from the seven emirates and UAE's cultural heritage.

On October 12nd, the “Embracing Middle East Summit under the Special Action to Support SMEs to Participate in the Belt and Road Initiative” will invite experts, economists, chambers of commerce and business associations from Middle East nations such as Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Egypt, Iran, Qatar to conduct business negotiations and exchanges.

Future activities also include the China SME Summit, SMEs Cross-border Business Matchmaking, 2018 "Maker in China" Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition.
